Six places to stay in Curaçao for six different reasons

1. The Floris Suite hotel
Gorgeous green setting, trendy design, gay friendly, great restaurant and bar and generous breakfast. To get to the beach, you need to cross the street via the Hilton hotel. You can either ask for a golf cart ride or go by foot, it’s quite easy really. Or you could just enjoy the awesome pool surrounded by a lush, tropical garden. Like a lot of hotel bars in Curaçao there are daily happy hours but they’re extra special here because of the fashionable lounge decor and casual flair.

2. All West apartments
All West is located at the far west end of the island, in the small fishing village of Westpunt. It’s quite far from Willemstad (a 45 min. drive) but close to the Shete Boka National Park, the Christoffelpark and some of the best beaches on the island, like Grote Knip and Kleine Knip. The apartment bathrooms could use some updating but I’d stay here again for the view alone. There’s a small beach right in front of the hotel and you can hire snorkel or diving gear (yes, there are turtles!) at the adjacent diving centre. No food served, but there’s a neat breakfast & dining facility within walking distance.

3. The Marriott beach resort
If you’re looking for the whole nine yards, this is the place to be. Six oceanfront acres, a grand casino, multiple restaurants, pool bars and lounges, a spa and fitness room and the list goes on and on. Perfect for those who like it big, brilliant and beautiful. The area is called Piscadera Bay, it’s the same neighborhood the Floris Suite Hotel is located in.
