5 days in Curaçao
Candice in Wonderland
I first visited two of the Dutch Caribbean islands for a business trip in 2016 – Aruba and Curaçao, with the latter being my favorite by far! Curaçao’s vibrant colors, cobble-stoned streets and stunning bridges totally bowled me over; and I knew I had to return!
So when my boyfriend needed a quick getaway, I swiped to my widgets and scrolled down to my favorite travel app Hitlist. Curaçao was the cheapest country to fly to and since Justin had not been there before, the decision was pretty easy.
When you arrive at Hato International Airport, you can take a taxi or catch a bus to Punda or Otrabanda. We took the 2A bus to the last stop in Punda which was directly in front of our Hotel; it cost $1 each but the ride was over an hour as the bus stopped at each station.
If you have the time, you can do a bit of walking through Punda. Visit the floating market and pick up some fruit and snacks at the local supermarket. The vendors were all or mostly Venezuelans who sailed to Curaçao to sell their produce.
