Curaçao Tourist Board signs ‘Official Destination Sponsorship Agreement’ with Major League Baseball

WILLEMSTAD – The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) signed a two-year sponsorship agreement with Major League Baseball Properties, Inc. The agreement includes promotion for the brand Curaçao as ‘Official Destination of Major League Baseball’ for the territory of Latin America, Canada and the Caribbean. Minister of Economic Development, Dr. Steven Martina and Interim Director of CTB, Mr. Hugo Clarinda were present for this special occasion.

This partnership with MLB makes it possible for Curaçao to reach millions of MLB fans through a marketing plan focused on the territory of Latin America, Canada and the Caribbean. With so many Curaçaoans excelling in Major League Baseball, the time is right for Curaçao to gain exposure through mentioned sponsorship agreement.

Curaçao has a total of 7 Major League Baseball players of which two were selected to play in the 2018 All-Star Game. As part of the agreement with MLB, Curaçao was promoted during the All-Star Game on July 17th through a Curaçao ad which was visible for a half inning on a virtual screen behind home plate.

The Minister of Economic Development, Dr. Steven Martina and the CTB are very proud of this unique opportunity which will surely ensure destination awareness for Curaçao on a wider platform.
