Curacao Tourist Board and partners to host first National Tourism Conference.
Pursuing sustainable growth in tourism through meaningful, cutting-edge transformation
WILLEMSTAD- August 21, 2018 – On September 26th and 27th, 2018, The Curaçao Tourist Board (CTB) together with Ministry of Economic Development (MEO), Curaçao Hospitality and Tourism Association (CHATA), Curaçao Ports Authority (CPA) and Bureau Telecommunicatie & Post (BTP) will host the first National Tourism Conference (NTC2018). The NTC2018 includes plenary sessions, concurrent sessions and luncheon presentations. The goals set forth for the NTC2018 is to consolidate the islands’ plans for sustainable growth in tourism that brings meaningful transformation throughout our sector and broadens the economic benefits for the majority of our people. Equally, the conference will serve to jointly assess the advancement of the Tourism Master Plan, based on the targets agreed and coincide on a future path of sustainable development. The conference will include national and international speakers who will provide best case practices and strategies on several marketing and product development related topics that are critical to the growth of Curaçao’s tourism industry. During the press conference, Minister of Economic Development, Dr. Steven Martina explained the motive behind the first National Tourism Conference while CTB described the subject areas, conference program and speakers. Likewise, CHATA, MEO, BTP and CPA elaborated on their role and support to the first NTC2018.
The theme of the NTC2018 is: Pursuing sustainable growth in tourism through meaningful, cutting-edge transformation. The conference will provide attendees with information on the current trends that drive tourism, innovative ideas, strategies all with a view toward the development of a sustainable tourism. The success of the conference will be underpinned by public-private sector partnerships.
